Volant or Scotty?
Does anyone run a Volant cold-air intake? How does it compare to a Scotty? I'll probable go with a Scotty II but, I was just curious in performance differences and price. With the Volant you can also "Cut the Hole".

I haven't had experience with either, but i believe the Volant is more $ than the Scotty. And from what i have read, teh Scotty yields equal or better results. JMO

You can PM Stakeman. He just instlled his Scotty II, and it really took care of the EGT issue, and he did cut the hole.. His drag comp on 5x5 at WOT stops at 1400* pre-turbo... Mighty nice 8) - I have no experience, nor do I know anyone with the Volant...

HTH
-joel

I have no experince with the volant and have only had the Scotty 2 in for a short time now.

Today at the track proved to me that the Scotty 2 works. Ran my best time ever and EGT wouldn't go over 1400. Guess I need more fuel.

I had never covered the hole until today. With the hole covered it sounds like a stock air box again.

Push_Rod (Sheep boy of the north) was right. That hurts to say. :'(

ToolManTimTaylor has a Volant on his truck. But I haven't heard from him in a LOOOOOOOOONG time. Personally, I'll be going with the Scotty II. The Volant may look better, but the Scotty II has had proven results. Besides, I'm just going to smooth and paint my intake the color of the truck. So why waste the money on the Volant.

Re:Volant or Scotty?
I have seen the Volent set up and the filter is way too small. The Scotty II is the only way to go. Besides doing what it suppost to it also was designed, built, and sold by a couple of our own Diesel dudes. Both Scotty and Rod are great guys just don't get them together for too long. :
