Is this box similar to the ez, and how does it work? Is this the one that plugs into the connector in the cab, and will one version fit all 98.5-2002? Does it have a boost fooler?
Is this a good box for towing, and will it hurt the reliability of the truck? Also, would you shy away from buying used chips, or do they last a long time if they make it past the first year? Thanks

Plugs up just like the EZ from Edge and gets you the exact HP gains etc as well. they have actually been around longer than Edge, just don't have the marketing that Edge does. It does an excellent job towing and is gentle on the auto trans if thats what you have too! Used is used , sometimes a good thing and sometimes it's a bust. The price of the van Aaken is such that used cost can't cave too much anyway. Give us a call and we will be glad to help you with questions etc

I am switching to this box soon.Many guys state on TDR that its a better box than the EZ.Power comes on sooner & doesnt make the engine rattle as much due to timing advance.The V5 plugs into the canbus connection.Dont think it comes with a boost elbow though.

 

I have the Van Aaken V5 on my HO ,and like it.
Better throttle response and low end power, power
tapers off over 2300 rpm.
