well i went and got fuel and shes makin all kinds of racket now. its less noticable in 5th (direct) than all the other gears.
what kinda tranny does fed ex use in their city day cab trucks with the 5.9?

some of that size trucks (UPS I know of for sure) ran a 5 spd. eaton behind the 5.9, but they weren't an O/D tranny, a buddy of mine has one he was gonna try & use on a ford/cummins conversion, but the gearing was gonna be way too low on it, they may have a 6,7,or 8 spd. out there somewhere though, like some of the F-600-800 ford's used that'll mate up to the 5.9, not sure how to go about working in the X-fer case though??? i need something that is guranteed to bolt to the 5.9. It'll be hard enough trying to right the cross member to fit!
If it is the trans, i may do a conversion. If not, ill just fix what ever else it is. However, i may end up doing this later, my dumb trans grinds.
