Propane injection will work great with an Edge. Should be about an 80 hp gain and around 1-3 net increase in mileage.

As long as you don't start stacking, or throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the engine there really are not any negatives.

how about headgasket integrity because of the increased timing the propane gives you? the propane is a catalyst and will ignite before the diesel thereby increasing your timing and will result in higher cylinder pressures.

make sure everything is up to operating temperature before the propane is used...

The propane/air mixture is too lean to burn on it's own and can not actually ignite first. Without the diesel fuel event, nothing happens. The key is to use a small controlled amount.

Radically advancing timing by any means will cause head gasket issues even with out an additional fuel source.

Most systems are boost activated, meaning, you have to have build up some boost pressure before they even start to fumigate so they should be up to operating temperature by then.

Hope this helps.!

If you're running the ETH (HO) engine and increased timing from the Juice, along with propane, expect to be replacing your head gasket, unless you keep the power boost under 35 or 40 hp at most. The lower compression and less advanced timing of the ETC (SO) engine will do better..may double the power. Either way, it is very hard on head gaskets, and advancing the timing makes the situation worse.

Do a search on propane injection and I think you will find that those that have actually have/use propane, have used it for a long periods of time, have not had any issues with using it and are generally very pleased with it. They are also not heavily modified and already pushing the envelope.
It is intended to be used for moderate power increases and mileage improvements.
