i installed a external wastegate on my 98 a few weeks ago, and everything had been great.... untill about a week ago. i changed the oil and installed a remote filter set up... then on the way home i noticed higher than normal egt's, then will spool really slow in 4th. egt's never used to get over 1000 but now hitting 1200 real quick, the s400 is running a higher pressure but still normal pressure in the intake. and all of these things seem to be getting worse every day. maby waste gate sticking open any ideas

 

more temp equals more fuel. so some where you are leaking extra fuel and/or oil into the engine and its burning. Or you have a boost leak on the ref. line to the waste gate

 

Best thing to try is clamp off your waste gate line and see if anything changes. This will stop your waste gate from opening at all.

 

Check to see if you wastegates are closed? When mine leaked, that what happened. Slow as a slug to spool. The power was off. My wastegate actuvator got toasty one day and kinda got weak and wouldn't close-up good. High egt's and smokey.
