Twins.....BHT3B or HT3B

Hey fellas
this is my first post in your forum so ill give you a little background of my project first.
Its a 2 1/2 ton army 6x6 that i put 53" tires on and then did the smartest thing i have ever done, chopped out the multi-fuel and fabed in a 5.9 cummins 190

Now i got the bug and happen to have a BHT3B and ST50 turbo i was thinkin of using for a twin set up with the stock HX 35. If the stock HX wont cut it ill just get me a PDR 35 later but kinda wana try it with the stocker.

SO here it is, Is the ST 50 any good? its on a 350 HP big cam and the BHT3B is on a 400 HP Big cam as well. the ST is mine and the ol' man wants 200 bucks for the BHT3B (a little much maybe? i do get air filter and pipes). Any Idea what the differnce is between the HT3B and BHT3B
Or should i spend the money for a new HT3B?

Are the medium duty motors any differnt from the Pickups? I heard about less compresion that means more boost but a heavier piston no 4K GSK

For some picks of the truck check out www.imageevent.com/tabs/armytruck

Thanks
-Tony

first of all, welcome!

i don't know much about the st-50, but i did read that it's the worst turbo holset ever made. the difference between the bh and h, is that the bh has a map width enhancement slot. there might be other small differences, but that is one big bonus. if it's in good shape, the bh would be a smokin deal. it's a very popular turbo for twins. especially if it has a 26cm housing.

cool looking project, btw.

how did you fit the 53's on with that rear suspension. i have a m35a2c that i keep thinking about putting on a set of 53's on. but i didn't want to mess with the rear suspension. thought about dumping the rear axle and just make it a single axle in the rear. o yea the st 50 is a heap.

hello fellow deucer, yeah the rear suspension took a little doing, first i made new boggie arms for the rear, pressed in my rubbers and stuck it all on, then i ordered some custom made leaf springs 12" longer than stock. i added 3 inches to the bottom of the frame for a 3 inch lift and stuck a 4x4 between the box and frame for a 6 inch lift. then i just made some brake lines up on my weather head machine out of 5000 psi hydrolic hose. If you dont take pride in having 6 wheel drive id just lop off the back axle and go get the brakets off the front of a residue truck and just bolt it up. each rear axle has about 3000 pounds on it stock i think and the front is right around 6000 and the most weight you can put on the front (acording to the tag) is less than 500 pounds, so using this knowlede the spring rate would be just about right. Making the rims is fairly strait forward as well. If you know where there are some cheap 5 ton axles, 2 steering and 1 rear, i would sell my 6 bolt 16.00's

It maybe be ugle but that just means it would fit in with the rest of the truck
