Twin turbos boost
Twin turbos boost
So I have 60mm or an s475 fuel mods are 6x18 injectors hot rod pump. 220 fass hold a solid 15psi wot on fuel pressure colt 3 cam ported polished head.... So my problem is that I am seeing all these guys boost 80lbs on there s475 and I only boost 55lbs on my truck.... I ve checked for boos leaks multiple times.... Could my ported polish head make that must of a different in boost?
Most people are hung up on boost #’s & relate boost #’s with power for some reason too.
Boost is easily manipulated by pinching off waste gate, running a small exhaust housing etc.
Does 80psi make more power than 55psi with the same amount of fuel....no. Actually less power. It’s all about flow. More flow = more power.
In a real simple way, think of it this way...you need to fill your kids kiddy pool. City water pressure is say 70psi...put a pressure gauge on the hose before the nozzle end. Now open nozzle just enough to get max spray distance and start filling pool. Pressure gauge will say something like 50 psi and pool takes 30 mins to fill. Empty pool. Now open nozzle all the way to fill pool...water doesn’t shoot very far, pressure only shows 25 psi and pool fills in 20 mins. Why is this...city water is the same 70 psi....should have taken the same amount of time to fill pool right. Wrong, with nozzle pinched off more, the restriction slowed down the flow, pressure went up over full open and your kids are standing there saying "come on dad". By the way...Happy Fathers Day to everyone.
Your cam and ported head allows for better flow and you don’t have your waste gate pinched off either which is a good thing.... I’ll take better flow over higher boost any day. Your in good shape...enjoy.
