turbo(s) for 370's?

i am thinking about getting a set of 370s from one of my buddies, i was just wondering how big of a turbo will i need to keep my egts in check? i tow everyone once in a while but not tons.
i was thinking about an hx40 hybrid with a 16 cm t.h. , but i dunno if that will be enough?
also, i have some friends that have there own custom twin setups with stock hx35's and ht3b's, i was also wonderin what a good twin setup would be?
i just want to keep my egt's from going sky high.

Non sense, keep 'em gated at 38 PSI and they live. I was making 436/957 with a 40 and have a gut feeling I am over 500 now. I ran a 12.88 and still have a 40. I am running the 370's, I never had a real EGT issue until I put the Scheid cut delivery valves in.

BTW, if anyone has an extra 40 with the 16cm housing let me know, I want another one.

I'm running a HTT 60/14 and got it adjusted to 40lbs of boost and it pulls strong, clears up most of the smoke also.

I had a hx35/40 hybrid without the 370s and a 3" dp to 4" exaust with a 100 plate full forward and it would get hot quick on a 6% grade pulling a 12,500 5th wheel at anything above 2500 rpms. If I held it at 2500 it would run around 1100 egt. I agree with the 62/14 or 64/14 Im running a s300 based 62/14 and the same grades it is 1050 all day long.

I'm happy with my stock hx40.... for me they work great. 40k+, 3+ yrs later, no problems what so ever. I drive like grandma though. lol

Pulled 9k just a few weeks ago, my 370's and hx40, never a thought did I ever have to worry about egts.

Of course you can't drag race or sled pull hx40's everyday.

who wants to pay $13-1500 for a turbo?

Mines wastegated at 40, makes 432 hp on a load dyno.

Why do you say you cant pull/race with a 40? Id almost try a 40 on mine when the time comes. They can be had for cheap on Ebay, and a rebuild doesent cost that much. Worst thing is me having an auto makes it easy to bark, but i think i could drive around it for the most part.

I am happy with my hx40 so far. I have towed a little (around 5k) and will be towing more in the near future. Spools slower than stock but not bad at all if I don't drive like a grandma lol. My torque converter/tranny shifts better if I get on it instead of just driving slow. For the money of the 40 you can buy other cool stuff like water/meth or something and still be under the price of a 1500 turbo

You can find S300 variants for less than $1500. Seems to take the abuse from barking a little better and you have a little more selection for exhaust side sizes. Like my S300, worked well with the stock injectors, a little tiny on the exhaust side for my current setup, but spools nice and provides as much boost as I want to set the gate for. Currently at 46 ish psi...

I've got a 35/40 hybrid, it keeps everything in my sig very manageable. Max EGT is about 1450, but I've got a little 160 pump

I should note, the max EGT listed above is unloaded. During a sled pull it winds to 1600.

If you push them over 38-40 PSI and bark them a lot they tend to grenade. I have been careful with mine and have run 12.8's at the drag strip, which equates to somewhere around 510 ish HP.

get a s300 based turbo, it will keep you cool with whatever you do with the set up your wanting and it gives you a little room to grow. Bark a 300 all you want they are tough as nails and when you blow up the 40 you'll wish you woulda just spent the money the first time.
