turbo for mach 1.6s need sound advice
OK my wife is shaking her finger at me and said my truck is fast enough (what ever) so in order for me to get an upgrade turbo mine has to go out so Im looking to up grade now because the "gonkulator valve is about to blow
so what would be a good turbo upgrade I have an ebrake that must stay and i love the little hx35 spool but ...need more air not a lot because i am happy with the way this thing pulls. it needs to spool fast, little lower drive pressure,no over boosting and be tough too, and bolt right in so ... whats best out there?? im not to sure about a hx35/40 and im thinking about a 14cmW
thanks.

A hybrid will give you a better and denser air charge. Going to a 14cm housing will slow spool, but may not be an issue with your handshaker. I would try it with the 12cm housing first.
You'll give up some top end with the 12cm as well.
And all the HX35 turbos get restrictive at some point. It's all about what you want to do....

A HTT HTBG 57/65/14cm would give you a lil more top end but still have the fun quick spooling bottom end. We have 1.6's in our tow truck and with a Smarty the stock HX-35 could use just a tad more top end but for the most part is a awsoome towing combo, just could use a lil more air. Also FWIW we did dyno comparisons with a friends truck at around 440hp going before and after swaping a HX-35 to a 60mm/HX-35 hybrid, and saw no gains in #'s.

Sounds like what he might want. Does it work directly with a turbo mounted exhaust brake?
I disliked and my truck hated the 35/40 14cm Dodgezilla until I used it in my twin set. If I were to do it over I have just kept the HX35.
Still..... I have never tried a 35/40 with a 12cm, might be an option like Dave says.
