also i wanna add that those who say the B1 was laggy for them...im not seeing 45psi until 2000rpms or so...but where it makes the difference is when i had the 55 and i would start building boost, at 2000rpms id have 0-5psi then all the sudden it was at 40-47

with the B1 i am seeing 10-15psi at 1900, and by 2000 its finally spiking in the 40's...so its not seeing FULL boost down low, its building the boost slowly but alot earlier, so its very usable power wise. i used to see 0 in 2nd gear, 15 in 3rd, and 35-40 in 4th gear...now im seeing 20-25 in 2nd, 35 in 3rd, and full 45+psi in 4th gear and higher on a hard acceleration run

it clears my smoke very well by 2000rpms, and there isnt as much smoke lower in the rpms as well.

Like I said...it was a lag pig for me since I was towing with a 12v...I could pour in the fuel and it got A LOT better, but my fuel economy suffered a bit

The twins spool a bit better, and move A TON of air Too bad my temps are higher because of the slipped timing

Glad you like it, though.

Lag from 2 places

I'd like to post short dissertation on lag.

There are actually two components to lag: the rotational inertia (and bearing friction), and the gas flow threshold.

People confused the two all the time and lump them together as lag.

What would happen if you added a bunch of intertia to the stock turbo, like adding a flywheel? It wouldn't change WHEN it made boost, but rather how soon it responds to transients.

So we have to keep in mind the difference between the boost threshold (i.e. where it BEGINS to make any kind of boost), and the rate at which it will build boost (which is more related to inertia, friction, wheel design, etc).

There's more on this at the Garrett site.
