Ran both in the past. The Comp fuels on level 6 like level 9 on the standard. Fuels based on minimal boost and has a vicious defuel shudder!

I have it stacked with a Smarty and later an EZ. I would go with the EZ hands down! The Smarty killed total power and times at the strip. And the cruise surge was a neck breaker. The EZ was a smooth driver.

the power max 3 120hp is the best box for every day drivers on the market i think but i ran the comp box for a bout a year in my every day driver it all what you want and i stacked with edge

I have never had the PM3, just the COMP version. Ditto on Dave's post, and I'll add that Mine is still pulling like a freight train at 3500 rpm........(no springs here, scary stuff). I don't know how and at what RPM the PM3 starts pulling back the fuel, but general consensus is the COMP version will take you into the 3600-3800 range.

I also heard that the recently upgraded boxes don't have the "defuel shudder" anymore....... any truth to this?

Hmm, I purchased my PM3 Comp a couple weeks ago. Never ran it on Level 9 for a bit then let off yet. What is the defuel shudder? I could always go make a run and see if it still does this shuddering.

I love my PM3 Comp, never ran a regular PM3 though. I have mine stacked with my Smarty on 5 right now. May drop down to Smarty on 3 to see how it likes that.

Guess I am going to consider sending mine back in for a freshen up!

Dinner, on level 7-9, when you come out of the throttle (I try to ease out of it slowly), It feels like the IP is going to jump off the side of the block. I hope that explains it. LOL Its from fueling so hard and then cutting the fuel, causing a huge fast surge in the pump.

I ran both...stacked on a Smarty.
At the track...the key is set Smarty on #3...no higher...for best times. Uses the timing but lets the TST do the heavy lifting.
Always has a shudder with the Comp, when backing off the throttle after a hard, WOT, run.

If they don't shudder anymore TST must have detuned it a bit. That's probably good.
