Transfer Tube ?s

I just ordered Stage 5 tips. So my question is do I need new transfer tubes and if I do where can I get them? Oh by the way my truck is a 98.5, and I have already put Stage 2 tips in it.

I don't think you would need new cross over tubes, unless you don't pull them back before yanking the injectors. Then you'll need new ones.

I think some of the early 24v motors had cross over tubes that should be replaced. I think there is a serial number breakdown somewhere here to know which need to be replaced and which ones are good.

Generally as Scott said, as long as you pull them out enough to clear the injector and don't damage the tip, they should be reusable. I'll see if I can find the info for the early motors.

On those early tubes, what part is damaged that makes them unresuable?

last time I didnt pull them out I pryed up on the bolt I screwed into the top of the injector and they got pushed back far enough to get the injector out. This time I think I'm gonna change them out, I don't want tempt fate.

Found this: "Engine Serial # 6462592 and lower will need new connector tubes to prevent fuel leaks."

Still looking for more info.

And this: The injector tubes on engines prior to serial #56462592 are supposed to be made out of a softer material that deforms slightly when the injectors are removed. Apparently, they deformed so frequently that it became common place to install the newer tubes on engines prior to this serial #.

One more: If your 98.5 24v engine serial # on the CPL plate is before #56462592 you will need the injector tubes.......if it is after that you already have the newer style tubes that don't need to be replaced
