Ok which line is the outgoing line on my tranny?

Check out Rattlinram's picture gallery. I put my sensor in just like his. Saw 220 deg. today backing up my trailer, otherwise always cruising around at 135-140. Iff you look at the Passenger side of the engine, the line you want is the 1/2" line to the back. It runs up to a heat exchanger, then out to the Trans. cooler in the front. Funny thing about it is that it crosses from the driverside, up to the heat exchanger, back under to the driverside, forward to the cooler. The line that runs vertically back by the tranny into the heat exchanger on the passenger side of the engine is the hottest line.

When looking at the pic,,, the rear of the truck is to the left of the photo. The "T" is in the line that is closest to the firewall.

Your '96 may have a line with a port already installed. Look forward of the tranny on the driver's side for a metal tube with a plug in the port.

I have found the fix for several problems plus I got a #10 plate for $50.00, a 30 pack of Keystone light and my stock plate......installed yet!!!
I also found me 2 stock plates for $10.00 each, time to start a grindin!
Now If I can just get someone to put in my gauges for a 10 spot I'll have it made!

Well I don't have the port and the line on the passenger side is different from the previous pic. I actually have a short rubber hydraulic line that connects from fitting on the metal line up to another fitting (Iguess that is the heat exchanger). I was going to attach a pic but I can't figure out where to do this from?????
I'm hoping to find someone that can make a custom fitted line with a port built into it for my temp prob.
Any Ideas????????

It kind of looks like you could replace that rubber section with a "T" for the sender.

Yea just tryin to figure out where to get a T that fits.
It's right at 8" long.
Also my probe has 2 brass fittings. just wondering if I need both or can I get a T that will take the small fitting and create a seal around the probe.
The porobe extends about 3/4" beyond the larger fitting and about 1 3/8" beyond the short fitting.
I'm going to put pics of the probe in my gallery as well.

Ok I found a place that will build a custom "T" connection to replace that 8" section of rubber hose. Now how far into the fluid stream should this probe go? Do I just need the tip in the stream or should it protrude all the way across the stream?
This probe is 3/8" in dia.

Just the tip in the flow is enough. You may want a larger tee installed in your new hose so the probe doesn't restrict the flow.

I went to get my new line made and of course they couldn't do exactly what we discussed. Instead they gave me this huge brass "T" with fittings and a short rubber line to match things up.
A couple of problems, the guy says that the rubber line is only good to 212 degrees. What kind of temps can I expect pulling a 15K trailer?
Also when I got home I realized that the stock rubber line has a check valve in one end. I guess to keep the fluid from draining from the heat exchanger.
I wonder if that's going to be a problem?
Any Ideas here?
