trans temp gauge
trans temp gauge
well i got the gauges in and i know how to hook up the boost and pyro but how do you do it for the short sweep electric trans temp from autometer? do you drill into the pan or tap into the cooler lines? thanks
On your '95 it's easy, just trade your Autometer probe with the stock one.
Probe is on the driver's side about a foot forward of the tranny, only thing in the area with wires going to a pipe.
The AM probe is 1/8", stock is 3/8", you will need a 1/8"x3/8" bushing from the hardware store unless your AM kit came with one.
ATF will start pouring out when you remove the sensor, be ready to move fast and you won't lose enough fluid to worry about. Use no teflon tape on the threads, instead use Permatex #2.
You will also have to trick the truck's computer about the missing stock probe.
After you disconnect the stock probe and put it in your toolbox install a 1000 Ohm resistor (25¢ at Radio Shack) across the two connectors that used to go to the stock sensor.
