trans lock up controller

Looking to see what works the best for lock up controller for auto tranny in a 12v dodge. I was told that using a lock up switch will eventually burn out the tranny, and possibly the PCM, so what do u recommend for a controller?

Home made lock up switches work well but you have to operate them when u want them manually and not forget to turn them of coming to a stop. But the TS lock up controllers are pretty nice for having it lock up and unlock at a certain set MPH and you dont have to worry about any thing. They work real well if your running at the track alot and trying to dial your truck in for the fastest ET.

Can this controller be programmed to lock-up second gear as well as third??? I have been having problems with another manufacturers TC controller and looking to find something that works a little better and I like the display also... Do you have these in stock and available to see? Thanks

Yes. You can set it to lock wherever you like.

With the TS controller you have to either jack up the rear and run the truck to the mph and program it when it hits the MPH you want it to lock up and program it to unlock once it's gets lower than the MPH locked up. Or you can do it on the street while driving it. You dont select a digital MPH on the controller you have to select it while the truck is actually at that MPH.

Not sure what I'm talking about here but could you add a relay to the home made system to unlock when stepping on the brake?

i would not put a home made one on, i did it and after one day it would shift from first and just shift all the up to overdrive and i was only doing like thirty MPH and it wouldnt unlock, so i tore everything out and now it works fine, i thought it was cool until it ****** up. i would not recommend this switch

What did you lock it up in 1st gea? With a stock trans I would only be using it in 3rd & 4th gear. Only in second gear for 1/4mi racing with a billet trans.

i didnt lock it up at all, the switch was off and once it shifted out of first, it acted like i turned the switch on, and it would just lock in and shift and shift and shift, i tried flipping the switch and tried getting it to turn off i had to pull over and rip out the jumper wire and put the old fuse block back in and pull all the wires, then it was fine.

You sure you had it wired up right? Tapping B11 and running to a switch then to a ground? Plus the relay jumper wire.
