Red face Is this Tranny sensor bad?

I put this in the top left port on my tranny. I was going to move the sensor to the middle one and when I pulled it out it was bent up. Will it work or did I need to get a new one. I cant get my gauge to work, it is stuck on wide open all the time. I may have to check the ground wire or something?

Yep its bad! You can check it with an ohm meter, just look for a dead short from the center post (where the wire to gauge hooks) to the body of the sensor.

How's your tranny?
I've seen pictures over at http://www.dieseltrans.com/phpBB/index.php that show tranmission damage caused by too long of a probe in the wrong port.

I only drove it for a few miles in that hole. I felt it shift hard a few times. Have not drove it since I took the sensor out. Thanks for the link!
