can you get the longer U bolts from most auto parts stores or is that something you have to get at places that do suspention lifts?

You don't want to preload the bars, they install loose. The DOM tubing is expensive, but I wouldn't use anything less.

Any spring shop can make them for you. I got mine from a place who does springs on commercial vehicles, they make them any length you want $20+nuts/washers.
