Tires For Cheap?

well its getting to be that time. time to get tires for my truck . i so am not looking forward to this and i am so low on $dough$ and can't afford really nice tires. now don't get me wrong i do want nice tires for my truck i mean i just can't afford to pay the prices and i sure don't wanna go to wal-mart either . so my question to you all is do you know where i can find tires for pretty cheap? i don't want REALLY cheap though cause i gotta drive gravel roads every day and that gravel will really tear them up. so ya just wondering if there was any special place you guys go to wrap ur rims?

and for the record i just wanna replace with the same size unless you pursuade me different.

and here's what the tire says too: M+S LT285/75R16 122/119Q (or D i can't really tell)

Sounds like a "catch 22". Just so you know Uniroyal Liberator 265/75-16 E (50K mile warrantee) at Wally World out the door for about $400. Mine have been great.

These were recommended to me by my tire guy. He is a straight shooter. $400 for 4 mounted and balanced with road hazard and free rotation.

I was looking for something with a little more bite than my uniroyals. He uses these allot on those ugly Dodge delivery van thingys.

No niose at any speed. They are made by Cooper.

I bought a set of Hancook for about $85 a tire(E rated). They seem to be a little soft as the center was wearing on the front. I had 55psi in them at the time but have since rotated them and put 65psi and have not had any troubles. The ride is rough with that much air but they are lasting longer. Don't really know if I will go back with this brand next time.

I have BFG Mud Terrain T/A 285/75/16s that I just took off of my truck and replaced with some good road/towing tires (Michelin M/S 265/75/16's). The mudders have about 3/4 or more of the original tread on them, and they retail for $221 each. I'll sell for $400 plus shipping if you're interested.

I'm in the Denver area.

I'm set for now, but I really like the look of the Courser MSRs in 265-70-17, but how do we find the price, and what is a "STD" rating?
I might also mention that I have good results with WWW.tirerack.com, but I am a real fan of Cooper tires, which these appear to be, and they don't carry them.
Thanks,
Mike

I guess you just have to start calling dealers that handle cooper tires? Or at least a distributor for cooper can tell you.
