Question for other SMARTY purchasers

When pressing the accelerator, is it just me or does only like 2" of the peal travel give any response, after that it is is just , well, pushing it down with no more fuel being added?

i mean it is a great response, but after you press it so far, you get nothing else, so on Auto's, you have to press it past it's full throttle point to get the tranny to gear down.

I am very happy with it, but just wondering about everyone elses throttle response after that first two or so inches.

I find that after the first two inches or so, it actually slows down a little?

If you're running SW#9, how far and fast you press the skinny pedal is proportional to the amount of acceleration or smoke you get. If you press it in a reasonable fashion, I've noticed that my truck is quick from the start. If I mash the throttle, all I do is make smoke until the turbo spools then I'm off like a rocket. I haven't tried any of the other programs because I like SW#9 so much. My truck doesn't really feel like it levels off... just keeps going.

btw, I'm running DD3's so my experiences are coming from a slightly different perspective

Which SW are you running? I haven't noticed this, but I've been working through the lower SW's. On sw1, when you floor it there is a huge difference from 3/4 throttle.

ive noticed this too,i notice it more on #9,it seems like the throttle is condensed,if you had x amount of fuel in 4 inches of pedal, with the smarty you get the same amount of fuel in 2 inches of pedal, the response is great but after 2inches theres no more its like wot at 1/4 of the pedal,on software#1 i didnt notice this as much.

I have not noticed it either. Maybe bigger injectors make a difference, like graphitecumz said.
But it makes sense. without the wire tapped, there is not more fuel.... it's just redistributed to come in earlier. There may be, what feels like a flat spot, till rpm's/boost come up.... depending on your set up.

YES SIR!

And on the other hand even with stock sticks you still need the full throttle to get up to max speed. A little like if the throttle was linked to the speed.

I have been tring sw1. The go pedle seems consistent througout the entire range. I also reset the apps to see if it makes a difference, I have not tried any other settings since the apps reset.

SW1 is a huge improvment over stock!

I realize there is no wire tap, but it sure does feel like there is more fuel delivered, not just re-distributed.

Other than that, the pedle thing is a little funky, but by no means a deal breaker! Maybe it will be addressed in a software upgrade. I know it is setup to uprade off a USB connection.

I put it back on SW#1 and it was like the old pedal except had more power.

I think it is just something Marco put in for the responsiveness of the pedal so we can get the rest of the crowd off the line. haha

If bigger injectors make it better, what injectors would you guys recomend? Also what would the bigger injectors do performance wise?

Also any coments on the adition of a HRVP44 with the smarty?

Bigger injectors are all about performance... they range from mild to wild on power gains. If injectors is the route you want to go, all you need to do is decide how much more power you want, then see if you'll need drivetrain and/or turbo upgrades to support the extra power(fuel) you'll be getting. I won't recommend injectors as I don't wish to open that can....

I'd say getting a set of Don M's showerheads would be a good place to start though. Can't wait until I put a set into my rig.

I'd imagine a HRVP44 with a Smarty would be nice combo.

Are you still running that Banks PowerPak??

Nope, not running the Banks any more, just the smarty. I like the low end power! I am afraid to run them both, my plan is to do a HRVP44 when the time comes, no wire tap! I do alot of towing.

Either way you're giving the smarty more fuel to control.
How about some nice mach 1.6's?
