Been reading lately. Can I check timing by pining the gear, poping the gear, then using the dropped valve method to locate TDC, then put the gear back on? I assume this would set timing back to stock. I didn't want to buy the indicator, and the shops won't set it past the factory spec anyway. Can someone explain the dropped valve method?
