Is there a way to tap the pump
Depending on how closely the warrantying vendor wants to look, any piercing of the pump wire will be visible.
The stealth covers work by inserting a tiny pin into the wire. This method is much less visible than pinching a scotch-lock on the main part of the wire and cutting the insulation. But if the vendor looks close enough, they'll be able to identify the tell-tale mark where the wire was pierced by the cover.
Any "tapping" of the wire puts you into the "pay to play" category.

I just sent a vp to II which is 2 months old & has pump tap soldered on. Brady said that he will repair it for me under warranty, but he wouldn't just send me a new pump because of the tap. He is very good with his warranty, as long as you have a good lp system & pump damage wasn't caused by inadequate fuel flow.

The stealth cover I have dosn't tap the wire at all. it screws down onto the post the wire is atached to under the cover and then your box wire ataches to the stud on the cover.
