Switched VP tap?

How much current goes through a VP wire tap? Is it safe to mount a simple plain jane switch in line?

I'm sure its not much but I'm wondering the need for it. On most box's that tap the wire they have an off level (1 or 0) which is just timing or no extra fuel and you can switch it off anyway. no offence but i don't see the need. However I dont think you would melt a switch or anything.

AFAIK, it is not an on/off signal that goes through the wire, but the timing (pulse) signal for injection duration and timing. A switch IMO would accomplish nothing.

EDIT : I misunderstood the question.

Are you trying to switch the output of the Banks module to the VP wire? If so then that should work.

Someone posted this very question a few weeks back and I don't think there was ever any resolution to it. IIRC, they couldn't get the switch to work properly... something about it would work only one time and then not again.

I initially tried just a switch and didnt have much luck with it, I wired it up on a relay out near the fuse box where my juice is mounted, and it works great
