suspension bushings

i am having a hell of a time finding the right bushings for my truck. its a 99 4x4. i pulled a 6 inch lift off a 2001 and put it on it. the bushings on the suspension arms are shot, but i cant find new ones. does anybody know if the aftermarket suspension arms use the same bushings as the stock arms. its a little scary driving over a rough road with the front end as loose as it is. good for giving you that " pucker feeling".

Have you tried calling the manufacturer of the lift and seeing if you can't get them from them.

Every suspension system I have seen with replacement arms do not have factory bushings. Usually it is a 2 piece polyurethane bushing. I agree with BB, calling the manufacturer is usually the best idea. If you don't know who made it, post some good pics and I'll try and identify them for you. Even better, if you had some spare money, put some DC long arms on. The kit is, or at least used to be, $500. Very nice setup.

DC long arms are way old tech....I don't like them for several reasons, top two being the .120 wall tubing they use in the CA's and the fact that you have to hack up the cab mounts to get them to clear.

BDS makes a nice long arm kit or you can call Don Thuren and have him make you a set.

But then again, we're talking about bushings here, you already have a kit. Measure the ID and the OD of the bushings that are in there now, then see if Energy Suspension has something they normally stock.

Not to hijack but I have to answer to this. Old tech or not, they still work great. Yes, hacking cab mounts isn't to everyones liking but the supplied cab reinforcement brackets are more than adequte. As for the CA tubing, these things are VERY strong and I have seen it proven. Jumping terraces at 80mph thinking you are going to die and these things didn't mind a bit. (Not in my truck though!) Now I'm not saying BDS or Don's are better or worse, in fact i have Don's trac-bar, very nice piece, but do not go around thinking these things are junk...because the are not.

If you say so.....I guess you haven't seen as many cracked cab mounts and bent DC long arms as I have.
