"roots" are positive displacement types, meaning they have a set output per revolution and hence zero lag.
centrifugals are like a belt driven turbo, they "spool" with RPMs.
Although they COULD be made to spin fast enough to match the "roots" type @ idle, they would consume more power to do so.
Oddly, the diesel aftermarket has not really embraced the SC yet, so most of the available SCs are for gasser applications that require relatively low boost levels.

There are credits @ the end of the video.
It is a gen IV Eaton/Magnusen MP90 supercharger off a 05-07 mustang 4.0, over a Turbonetics Y2K 80mm ballbearing turbo.

IDK doubt the MP90 can @800CFM, but the Whipple @1450CFM prolly will be able to.
I have not dynoed it, but it feels great and pulls our 12k trailer like its a toy.
