Summit 5 inch exhaust

I just installed one on my 02 and figured I would pass on my experience with the kit to anyone interested.

I'm not sure who makes these kits for summit but they seem to be quality pieces. All of the welds are very good quality, and everything fit perfectly.
The hangers are welded to clamps not the pipe itself which I liked because the 4"kit on my 98 had the hangers on the pipe and the pipe keeps cracking at the hangers so hopefuly this method will remedy the problem of cracking.

As far as sound and performance the egt's seem to be about 150 to 200deg less pulling the grade on the way home. The sound is very deep below 1600 and then seems to get quiet between 1600- about 2200 when it really starts to wail with a very deep tone. If you do alot of pulling above 2200 for sustained periods I wouldn't reccomend this system unless you like it loud.
Other than that I am very happy with the system and the quality, and the price isn't bad either.

I believe Heartthrob Exhaust makes the 5 inch exhaust for both Summit and Jeg's. They are definitely a nice exhaust.

You seem to be correct sir that does look like it and the instruction sheet is the same part numbers are the same also. I was skeptical at first because of the price but it all went together perfectly.

Here's the link to the Summit Website:

I ordered mine 5 inch exhaust from Full Spectrum Performance
http://www.fullspectrumperformance.u...spexhaust.html
I ordered the 5 inch exhaust without the muffler and it was shipped to my door for $330.00. They advertise on E-Bay so you can try and bid for less than the buy now price. I haven't installed yet. Hopefully next week I'll be installing it along with my Donaldson 51" muffler.

What kit are you running? 4" or 5"? Stainless or aluminized?

5" aluminized they don't run any salt on the roads here and it hardly even rains here so not much worry about rust.
