Suggestions for new shocks

I have a 99 3/4 ton (camper package) and would like input on new shocks. I haul a 4 horse slant trailer in the high country quite a bit and I'm looking for a shock that gives me the best bang for the buck. Don't need to get fancy, just a good quality product. Thanks for any input.

Am not into fancy either and personally prefer the lifetime warrantied shocks that the tire chains sell, usually they're Monroe.
After all it's a truck, not a sports car.
First set I bought felt mushier than what I liked, they swapped me the next step harder with no question or money involved.

Whatever you buy I'm sure you'll find them better than the stock ones.

Bilstein 5100 black & silver. Install some quality tires and your ride will improve even more. Good luck.

I have been happy with NAPA stock. I believe they are made by Monroe, but they do the job, and if you ever have a problem, NAPA stores are easy to find.-RD

i second the bilstein 5100's. i put them on after the stockers wore out and really love them. i have never tried anything else though - so i can't say if they are better or worse than any of the other recommendations. i chose them based on recommendations of others on here . . .

Bilsteins will the be most used shocks on these trucks for good reason, they last. I tried a KYB that was supposed to be an exact replica of the Bilstein and they were just to harsh. For that reason I bought Rancho 9000's and I love them. Thats not to say that I wouldn't have liked the Bilsteins though. Maybe if the Rancho's go bad and I dont want to warrant them, I'll look at the Bilsteins. Both of those are lifetime warranted too. There's been many threads regarding this topic and its amazing how many brands cant stand up to the weight of the Cummins.

have the 5100's love em, only issue I had around the 3 year mark was the bushings on the bottom of the shock wore out started to knock on the inner bolt sleeve, no warranty on this just ordered new bushings and replaced. also the 5100's outside appearance seem to tarnish easy. but then again it's a truck.

I like the Autozone lifetime warranty ones. Nice being able to take them off every 40K miles and replace them free....
