Well I'm looking for a turbo that would suit me best for street/drag applications. I don't use the truck for towing anymore, so I don't need a turbo that flows good around the top to help keep EGT's in order. I'm kinda new to Turbo's so I'm trying to figure out/read what the best sized turbo would be for street.

What is your HP or 1/4 mile time goal? Nine times out of ten, a 62mm turbo is going to suit you just fine. If you "street race" on a closed course quite often, a smaller turbo will be more fun than a sluggish 66mm all out competition turbo.

Usually its the smaller inducer turbos that create boost at low rpms that are thought of as towing turbos. Flow at top end has to do with the turbine, housing, and/or wastegate.

I'm not sure what turbo that is they are selling at Scheid's. Ive dealt with II and HTT turbos and II stood out for workmanship while HTT stood out for customer service. If you're being honest about your hp goals then HTT recommends a 57 mm htbg turbo over the larger 62.

Thanks Guys.

For HP I'm wanting to build up to probably around 400-450 for starters (will be over time, don't have the money to spend all at once). 1/4 mile time I'm looking to be around 14 at least, or lower. (I'm not sure what my truck does right now though).

The thing I'm a little confused about, and hopefully you guys can help me out. Is for a street/drag turbo it is better to have a smaller compressor to build boost sooner in the RPM's right? But in the same turbo, it should also have a good sized exhaust housing so that once I'm up in the turbo's efficiency range (WOT run) it is flowing almost like a towing turbo?

I do want to start taking my truck to the drag strips around me once in awhile, I think that would be a blast. I know I need to get my tranny built up, front end all replaced, upgrade fuel system and an exhaust manifold and turbo before the truck completely falls apart
