What is the stock timing on a 95 auto? CPL 1959.

I went to advance mine today, but i didn't have the right gear puller (thought i did). I checked the timing anyways , to see where it was, i had 5.46 MM of lift at TDC , or 11 degrees of advance. I thought stock was 13.5 or so. I am going to go to 16 degress , or 16.5 (pros and cons of each setting?) once i find my gear puller.

 

It will tell you on the engine data plate if yours has one. Its on the timing case. All manuals are 12.5°, autos can vary.

 

Already checked the Data plate , has lots of info , no timing numbers were listed, it also doesn't say "chrysler corporation" under "cummins engine co" like my dad's does, i found that rather interesting.

 

Jayme, set the timing to 18 degrees. This will help regain the milage that you will lose with the new ULSD...

 

18 degrees! you messin with me doc? i'd like to heep my head gasket for more than a week!, i am at 11 degrees now , i think a bump to 16 will net me some more milage.

 

That number comes from a VERY knowledgable source.

 

I had a very knowledgeable fella from georgia tell me if your gonna put it at 16.5°, you might as well leave it stock
