Stock one is Worthless....

Anyone else notice that the stock horn is extremely quiet when compared to our engines, especially those who are straight piped (like me)?

So I'd like to replace the stock horn....

I had a set of high pitched "trumpet" sounding air horns on my jeep. They weren't too expensive, came with a small air compressor and worked alright. However, I'd rally like to do some that sound lower in tone.

Space in the bed and tool box is already limited so I don't know if I could do an air tank.

Any suggestions?

Space UNDER the bed is usually available for air tanks from which you feed the AIR HORNS.

Check out www.hornblasters.com they sell train horn kits. Watch some of the videos on their site as well. They go around startling people with them, good for a chuckle.

philabuster,

That's a very good point!

ahopper,

any chance you remember which one you got from ebay?

Kantdrive55,

Do you have one of these? any suggestions?

ANY SUGGESTIONS, there are a ton out there and I'd really like to get one that is as low sounding as I can, or as close to a truck's horn as possible.

We don't actually sell them here. Our service department installed a set a while ago on a customers truck. Wholly @#$% was it loud. I think that website that I put the link to sells them. If not any truck supply store should be able to get you set up with a set.

Hornblasters are train horns and would drown out a semi horn a mile away.

You could also get an electric horn that emergancy vehicles use. The horn itself is about ten by ten and then there is a little amp that goes with it. They aren't as loud as air or train horns but they are deffenining if you stand next to it.

are you talking about the buzzer sounding ones? or the more "air horn" sounding ones?
