Thumbs down That Cupholder Seems About Worthless....

in my 02. It's rather shallow and almost anything I set in it will tip over. It has some kind of claw rig that comes out to size the cup being held but overall the Dodge interior design crew must have been asleep that day. This is a VERY POORLY designed piece of interior plastic junk as any of you that have the same thing in your trucks must surely know.
Anybody have any suggestions on an upgrade for this poopy piece of plastic junk presently littering the floor area on the inside of my Dodge Cummins??? Thanks for the help!!!

I read about this crappy cup holder all the time but honestly mine is perfect. Fits my coffee cups just fine, no tipping, soda cans, water bottles everything but a big gulp. No rattles, never fallen apart. I'm counting my lucky stars I guess.

There is a cup smoothie at Genos others have bought and like. Myself I'm keeping my cup holder as is.

Good luck.

I'd like to know too. Mine won't even hold anything small anymore, the plastic thing just slides back

Look up the smoothy or cup holder that genos has got one installed and love it. Looks like a factory fit when the center console is down on my 99.

I'd like to find a replacement for the one below the floor shifter. The holes are about right for setting the new cup holder in place but I've never experienced a more worthless accessory trying to masquerade as something useful. I've even thought about removal if I could find something that looked right in it's place. That thing at Geno's isn't really what I'm looking for....hopefully what I am looking for exists. But I'll keep an eye out and I appreciate your eyes out looking too!! Thanks again.

Cool "watch out for the spit cup stain" Actually, be carefull with those cup holders, my freind broke his and never, ever fixed it, it just felt like the truck was trashed after that. It just bothered me, you know Why couldn't he just fix it? I am real careful with mine which means it will probably break.

I need to replace the holder that pulls out from the dash on my 96. The little tray that the bottom of the drink sets on just fell off one day.
I can put a koozie on my drink and it stays just fine but otherwise it'll just fall straight through to the floor.
My youngest daughter dropped a drink through the hole once as I'm yelling, "Don't"!
We were just heading out for a weekend trip. Then after we pulled back up to the house to clean it up my wife did the exact same thing!!
I thought I was gonna blow a gasket. The holder ALWAYS has 2 koozies in it now.

I think the Auto cup holder is very good. My wife likes it, too. I haven't had any experience with manual trucks, so I can't comment, but both of my auto trans 2001's hade/have awesome cup holders. I had my 7 year old son put his foot down on my current truck's cup holder, and I thought I was looking for a replacement -- the cup holder made a snapping sound, and was hanging down to the floor. Turned out it just needed to be snapped back into position, and has been holding strong ever since. If it does fail completely, I will remove it and get a cup smoothie from Geno's, and then mount a CB radio in the old spot.

How does it mount

Does anyone have pics of their cup smoothie mounted in their truck? I would like to know what this thing will look like and how it fits in my truck.
The installation instructions just don't do it for me.

Same here. Really nice thing I like is it holds a 32oz gatorade bottle if you slide the plastic thing all the way back.

I took the "Ejector tray" out and made a black plastic panel and formed it to fit the hole. mounted a couple of accessary rocker switches in it and bought the genos smoothie.
