Starwheel

Is the starwheel really easy to adjust? From everything I have read on it, it seems really easy to access, and adjust. Is that hex screw and the washer the only thing that is in the way for the starwheel, and what do you need as far as tools to adjust the starwheel itself? Is it a flat head screwdriver, or a alan wrench, or what? And will I see much more power if I adjust it per my sig? Thanks

Yup, the starwheel is really easy to adjust. There is a plug on top of the AFC witch takes an 8mm alan wrench. Remove that plug being careful not to loose the washer underneath it. Take flat head screwdriver and turn the starwheel towards the engine to increase preboost fuel.

Don't loosen it all the way, yeah it will leave smoke clouds the size of Rhode Island BUT all that is is wasted fuel and it hurts spool up. When you loosen it make sure you still leave a decent amount of tension on the spring.

So if i take off from a dead stop and it just leaves a little puff of smoke, then I could loosen it a couple of turns would you say?

Am I going to lose any of my top end power if I adjust this?

Sorry not trying to hijack.

Do you gain anything besides a smoke cloud and in my case a soot-covered rear axle (my pipe is ripped off after the muffler lol, time for a new exhaust eh?)?

No, all it does is loosen the tension on the spring the AFC foot is attached to. By doing this it takes less boost to move the foot therefore allowing more preboost fuel. After you reach around 10 psi of boost the Afc no longer controls fuel.

Yes, it helps spoolup and lowend power quite a bit. With an auto I would start with turning it 5 or so turns towards the motor and see how much smoke you have before the turbo spools. Then you can turn it more or less depending on your preference.

I would think that there is no "standard" that they were set at. I would say the somewhere to the middle of the plug hole would be a good guess. The Adjustment is all in what you want and how much smoke/lack of bottom end you can live with.
