speedometer don't work anymore

My dad has a 93 dodge 2wheeler drive with the automatic taken out and a smv 5600 tranny in it. He has no speedometer. There's no place to put the sending unit in the transmission. What can be done to get the speedometer to work again?

the 5600 does not have a speedo hook up, the later trucks used the ring gear sensor for the rear antilock brakes.

I tried to talk dad into a GPS. That didn't fly with him. He has to use the abs sensor to drive the speedometer, but the counting has to be right to do so.

I'm just trying to se what other people have done to get the speedo to work after installing a smv5600 six speed.
