You can purchase a Superchips Microtuner from your local truck accessories store or order one online at superchips.com. The microtuner has three HP settings- 40,50, & 70 hp. It also has a ECM Code reader and allows you to reset the computer if you are displaying a trouble code (It also has a book that dispays what the codes are). It does have a menu to adjust your tire size. It is a basic procedure; just measure your tire hieght and enter it into the microtuner and it will adjust your speedometer to be accurate.

there is an equation that you can use to calculate your speed if you dont want to spend the $$ on any equipment. I cant remember the equation, but you can do a search for it. Overall, no matter what tire size you decide to go w/, the difference is usually no more than 10%, so most people on this forum can do that in their head. just my $.02.

Couple of options that I explored.

The math thing, with a $5 calculator from you local "superstore". If you have not changed your gears, simply divide new tire diameter by old, and then multiply what you see on the speedometer. In my case, 35/29 = roughly 1.20, or 20% increase. Or inverting, take what you see on the speedo, divide by 5 and add to the original number. IE - I see 25 on the speedo, I am running (25/5)=5 and added to the reading, I get 30. So I got used to 25=30, 30=36, 35=42, 40=48, and so on.

Next, get a good GPS. I like the Garmin models personally.

Either way you save money over the Superchips deal.

Yeah, I am a geek!

THANKS MATT FOR THE MATH. I ALREADY NEW THAT. I EVEN HAVE THE GPS, BUT WHILE I SEE BLUE LIGHTS COMING, I CAN'T ADD & MULTIPLY, & LOOKING AT MY GPS WOULD TAKE MY EYES OFF THE ROAD. HOW MUCH IS THE SUPERCHIPS DEAL? WILL IT STACK ON TOP OF ANY OTHER BOX LIKE I ALREADY HAVE? IF STACKED DOES IT REALLY IMPROVE ANYTHING? THANKS

The superchips box is only plugged in when you need to change information/parameters in the truck's onboard systems.

You could also try the Superlift true speed adapter.

Didn't mean to insult at all. Was just providing some material in response to Hunter's post. Plus, like I said, I am a geek!

I agree! I sure as heck ain't trying to run a calculator and drive at the same time.

I ran the numbers and memorized the results. Also, when the speedo is running even multiples of 5 the math is pretty quick. No doubt it is still much nicer to look at the speedo and get the visual answer right off the gauge.

Oh, did I say I am a geek!

Hey CAPTDASH:

I really like them. They are performing great. Balance is great and the wear is much better than I expected. I do keep them rotated every 5k though. On road, I have no wobbles, and off road the only problem I have is the sides of the truck getting a "little" dirty!

Also, the ones that I am running are 35" X 12.5" X 16.5" diameter 10 ply radials. Load rated E.

I really am happy with them.

TrueSpeed Calibrator

I have had mine for about 2 years now. Instructions said to mount it in the cab, but I mounted it under the hood. Even with all the abuse under the hood it has never given me any problems.
