Southbend Clutch master squeak
Southbend Clutch master squeak
I've put a few miles on my new clutch hydraulics and it squeaks really loud everytime I push the pedal in. I called and was told to oil the switch part with some wd-40, it solved it for a day and then it came right back loud as ever. Anyone else have this problem and figure a way to stop it?
No probs on mine. It may be the pivot ball an the pasenger side or were the trough out bearing rides on the clutch fork. Try some Dry Molly spray it will stay on for a long time and it dose not set dirt stick to it like WD-40.
no i'm talking about the master cylinder rod, the thing that attaches to the clutch pedal inside the cab. thats why the squeak is so annoying because its like nails on a chalkboard everytime I shift, lol.
I thought you might have been. There it s bushing on the rod were it goes on the peddle and if it is bad id gets realy loud. On my 92 I had a duel spring Sacks pressure plate made that worked great but had twice the peddle pressure and would take out the bushing in 2 months. I had to grind and punch out the pen on the peddle and put a rod end on the rod and ti took care of the squeek and made it easyer to push. Dont look at the welds to much all I had at the time was a friends flux core wire feed (junk) I realy can weld better than that. I had to round off the back of the tip becous the rod is supose to lock once in the master. You can cut the tod and use a deep socet 14"drive and taper the tip and push it into the master to releas the rod. I also made it adjustable so I could set the peddle were I wanted it. I had to add the brace becous the old peddle broke. You can do some thing like this on your truck. It is realy nice and i plan to do it on my 96 some day.
the thing is though, that i put just enough wd40 on the rod right where it goes into the clutch master switch, and the squeek stopped, so it couldn't be the pivot on the pedal connect.
