Southbend 13125-OK or OFEK?
Southbend 13125-OK or OFEK?
Hey Guys,
Looking at getting a new clutch and wanted to hear from anybody that is running either of the two clutches mentioned. My truck isn't turned up much, but I keep reading about guys exceeding and slipping the OK.... 400 HP/800 tq is the listed limit and that seems plenty high.
Question is, would I be crazy to buy the 13125-OFEK (450 HP/900 tq) with my truck basically stock? I have stock fuel plate slid forward half way, the timing bumped to 16, and plan on 50 or 75 hp injectors. Any guesses on power with these mods?
Whats the drivability of the OFEK?
Thanks in advance,
Clark

Go the OFEK, with a fuel plate slid 1/2 way, timing bump and injectors your truck would no longer be "basically stock". In your case better to have too much clutch as the OFE has great manners anyway and is by far the most popular clutch we sell here.
Thanks for the input guys, I'll go with the OFEK when I pull the trigger.
Is it really that easy to hit the 400/800 power limit with these trucks without big sticks and upgraded turbo's etc?
Excited to see what all the fuss is about! (south bend clutches)
Thanks

Clark, yea, it is easy. I have resisted the urge to meddle for 2 years now, but have driven a buddies 97 Dually with minor mods ( Plate/Exhaust/Intake/GSK ) and if that isn't a hoot to drive. I need to keep remembering why I love my Cummins.......
It's hard to beat a southbend clutch
I think they somewhat under-rate their clutches. I beat my 3250dd relentlessly and never had a lick of trouble. Didn't even look broke in when I sold it! Have fun with your truck!
