So will my tranny hold up or no?

I'll be honest my truck is empty most of the time. I don't, at the moment anyway, have much to tow or haul. I do, however, want more power. Assuming I run around empty how far can I push the envelope on power before I need to start thinking about transmission upgrades. Hopefully my sig is working so ya'll can see my current state of modification. Thanks in advance fellas.

Edge EZ is the max.

I agree with Jamie. With just an EZ I was able to slip the lockup clutch if I wasn't paying attention when loaded.

EZ is usually it. Some guys can get away with an EZ and a set of 275 injectors. Mine slipped with the Comp on 1x3 towing a little fourwheeler trailer. I'm like you. I run empty about 99% of the time.

I ran a comp and DD2's for a summer before needing a tranny.

50 hp over stock seems to be the point where you will start to break the trans and related parts.

No easy foot just a nicely toasted tranny when it came apart. 8)

Ok thanks for the info fellas so, what would be a good starting point on the trans in light of the trucks current usage?

I'm really not wanting to get too crazy with the whole thing.

if you plan on not going over anything more then an edge EZ then I doubt the tranny needs anything I have 3 in service with no probs on stock trannies. All over 100 K

Edge EZ then but stick with it or you will need to do that tranny.

Re:So will my tranny hold up or no?

Do yourself a favor- buy a comp or tst powermax and skip the ez all together. I've run 275's and a PMax 3 for 10k miles and my trans is still tight. If you want to rod it a bit, wait till your torque convertor is locked and keep your settings fairly low. Yes I can slip my convertor at will, but I drive it accordingly.
Hopefully, I'll be upgrading my trans this year- just gotta keep the wife from smashing any more vehicles- but that's another story
Alll the advice to do the trans. first is correct, but you can get away with it, unless you treat it like a high school kid. Then your gonna have to pay

Hey Spark,
By Comp do you mean the EZ Comp? I'm not too long on the lingo yet, but hey I'm learning. Scott
