Smoke switch

Anyone have side effects with a smoke switch. I'm thinking about installing on but I don't want to have codes going off.

I'd also like how to hook it up to a stock pickup.

Smoke switches are lame, and justify the lame laws that are being instituted. Fire engines are being forced out of service in struggling volunteer fire departments due to emissions law stupidity that is spurred along by useless obnoxious mods like the smoke switch.

Edit:
Sorry for being so blunt, but maybe a chip or mild injector upgrade would be a better idea. Better fuel efficiency, more power, less detrimental to hotrodding diesel community.
