Ok, I just got my smarty today and couldn't wait to try it out. Figured I would try it on level 5 first. But, no luck! It won't comunicate with my truck. I have a hypertech that I have been running. So I used it and reloaded the top setting, then unloaded it back to stock again. Then tryed the smarty again. Still won't comunicate with my truck. Has anyone else had this problem? Don't think it is the truck because the hypertech will download.

 

Never heard of this-- I'm sure Bob Wagner would love to help you figure out what is wrong.

Ya, He called and left a message to jiggle the connection, and make sure that it is in all the way, but i did all that. Infact I tried again at lunch time. I want this thing to work. I will be calling him at a better hour today.

You have a VIN serial number that is not recognized with the Smarty. You'll have to return it.

 

ok, update.....bob called and we tried some things to no eval. So he is sending another one overnight after testing it on his own truck.

 

The failure to recognize VIN # by the ECM was an old problem and has not been a factor for over a yr, I believe.

ok, got the second smarty in today just in time to try putting it in before going to work. It worked right off the first time. Thanks to everyone and specially Bob for being so willing to help and overnighting me another one after trying it out to make sure it works. Awsome to deal with! And this thing rocks! Now time for better fuel pump.
