Smarty going to drive me to drink!!!

Alright I got my S-03 Smarty for the DTR store yesterday and tried loading the program on my truck, and from the get-go it goes through the initial VIN recognition and all goes smoothly then once I go to load SW#3 onto my truck it goes through the entire process to 100% complete, then Error 61 PROGRAM ABORTED came up. Ok, no big deal maybe something interfeared, then I go through the recovery process and then go through that process and get to where it says CHECKING DATA and COMM TIME OUT comes up, if I disconnect the batteries and let it sit for a bit I can eventually get it to return to stock, but it takes several repetitions and each times it varies I have gotten 3 different errors and many different times (Error 61 PROGRAM ABORTED, Error 14 PROGRAM ABORTED, and ERROR COMM TIME OUT) I have checked, and rechecked my connnections, pulled fuses thinking something is interfearing, and still nothing. But like I said eventually I can get the stock to reload so I can atleast get my truck to start, but once I do I try to load a CATCHER SW and EVERY time it gets to the "PROGRAMMING.....PLEASE WAIT" and before it can load any percentage it says "ERROR COMM TIME OUT" and like I said when trying to load the CATCHER SW it does this EVERY time, but with the stock I can eventually get it. I am stumped, do I need to reflash my computer for a newer software program? (hasn't been flashed since I've owned it) Or how to I check to see if maybe my OBDII port is possibly bad? I know the Smarty works fine as I've loaded it on a friends '02. If you could help me at all it would be great cause this thing is wearing me out. Thanks again.

Doug

Have you had any other programmers on it that load into the ECM? If so, was the stock program loaded back into the ECM from that programmer?

I'd call Mads if that's not the case.

I'd try 2 things for grins and giggles-
Use some contact cleaner on your OBD-Port.
Unplug the Edge Comp from the CAN-Bus

I'm positive there is no program on the ECM, and I have cleaned the ODBII but disconnecting the edge I have not that will be the next step. I will keep you posted. Thanks

When I was looking at Mad's FAQ section I thought I read that once you use it on one ECM you can't use it on another. Check it out for yourself. Maybe I read it wrong. Just a heads up.

You can use it on many different trucks, just have to return to stock before you use it on another truck.

I went through and completely disconnected the edge and it made absolutely no difference same symptoms. Is there any way I can directly talk to someone from MADS other than strictly e-mail?
