Slipping Intercooler boots

Hey guys, What have yall done to keep the boots in place? I have problems with mine slipping out from under the clamp. Not blowing them or breaking clamps, but sliding. This is the 3rd time in the last 5k miles. All times were towing and under 25psi on a long grade.

My max boost is around 44-45psi. Do I need new boots and clamps?

Thanks
Rick

Ugg.. I finally bit the bullet and bought some BD boots and clamps... (Really ticked to find the straight hoses are shorter than stock!! PITA! For the crazy dang price give me the full dang boot!) anyways... I was running 70psi on my stock boots for probably 2 years, probably had a boot slip 6 or 7 times... I'd try really tightening those clamps tight first and see if that doesn't help...

BD boots haven't slipped yet...

try a little bit of hair spray on both surfaces before you put them back on.

Hair spray does help.
Be sure to clean well before tightening down.
When a boot blows off, the rapid reduction in turbo back pressure can cause oil to blow by the seals and get into the cool air piping.
Check for oil in throat of turbo. If oil there, work your way forward towards the CAC till you don't see any oil.... then clean backwards.

If replacing, use heat gun (or oven) to get them warm. Much easier install that way.
'bnold's' factory boots are only ones I've ever seen last that long. Mine developed pin holes at 55 psi.. but at 45 psi your probably ok!

I had bought the BD boots as well. Had nothing but problems with them. The bottom one on the outlet of the intercooler blew off more than the stock one. It wasn't even the correct shape. It should have had more of an angle on it.
Got rid of them and went with Stylin' Motors boot set. Been very happy with them. They are thicker than the BD boots and shaped for a better fit than the BD ones.
