better have a strong hitch, a clevis can break and you better have a strong/good driveline. you have a built trans and some nice mods you should be ok. I would shut your o/d off when you hook it

2nd HI that night. Should have gone with 4th LOW, but the track was tight near the start. They had alot of water at the end of the track & it was stopping guys fast. The sled was heavy that night & I decided to play it safe.

You can probably turn a 2" drop hitch upside down and meet hitch height. You will want to have it as high as you can legally so you get a good down force on the rearend. It will also likely bend and can break if you dont gusset. I would do a 3/8" plate gusset on each side.

Two things that alot of first time pullers mess up on is not hammering down hard enough at the start and not getting out of it if you start bouncing. A little bounce is okay, but if it bounces hard get out of it right now!! If you dont, you can do anything from breaking a drive line or axle to busting a diff. or tranny. Bounce will KILL your truck no matter how tough it is.

you have a 6spd, 4th 4 low is a perfect gear for most tight/sticky tracks. if you get on a loose or muddy track then I go to 2nd gear 4 high for some more wheel speed.

those guys have 5spds so they use a different gear usually.

Good advice. I've never had any bounce in my suspension yet. I've seen many of trucks bounce down the track & it seems to me that it is caused by the driver feathering the pedal down the track. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is my evaluation.
