Silencer Ring removal...I hate to bring this up AGAIN, but............

I popped off my hose going into the turbo to take the ring out and see the metal snap ring. How do you get this stout, unmovable thing off? It has no doles on the break ends for snap ring pliers. Maybe I am lost?.........

Just get a small screwdriver under & pry it up. Once you get it started you can use another one & keep working around until she pops out. I like to stick a rag in the turbo to keep anything that might break from going in. Some have used a knife blade to pry it up but be careful not to break the blade. Oh & don't forget to remove the rag.

I used a mini flat blade screwdriver. It's not going to just fall out (let's hope), so you will need to work it, a little at a time, out of the housing. When I removed mine, it scratched the inside of the housing slightly. Unless you can get underneath the ring to coerce it out, some scoring may occur. As long as any chips or burrs are removed, you're not likely to have any problems.
