Screw the fuzz, keep them. If there were other reasons I pulled them (drone, smoke, etc) I would say maybe. If you like them , then keep them on!

well i'm near philly at home home, they think they're cool here. its at school in blairsville that their givin me problems. Either way i took them off and i'm gonna put them in the classifieds in the next day or two. After thinking they did cause a ton of problems....2 new gas tanks (don't ask), and plenty of burnt objects in the bed. Plus now i have a full 8'. I WILL be putting on some sort of exhaust though. Also i didn't pass inspection, they said its cause i don't have a cat, i thought these trucks didn't. But i looked at the service manual at school, and sure nuff, it does.

No offence intended, but Sounds to me like you are under 25 and are out having some fun and edit of a cop and now he is going to make an example out of you by breaking you. I have my own issues with the cops and their personal privelages but I wont get into that. I went thru that in the late 60's, and my sons all went thru it too. The youngest is still paying for his fun but it doesen't stop him. My advise to you is passify the cops and idle thru town, be carefull where you have fun and always remember that when the cops are off duty that they drive personal cars and don't wear a uniform, so be carefull smoking past that slow grandpa on the road. Good luck

Howard

hemi cat you are exactly right. matter of fact i'm 24. And you know why i'm doubly as ,edit because i make it a point to drive safely (in that town at least ), i never rev it up in town and all the times i have been pulled over, i literally WAS idling by the cop. Its not even the noise, its more the fact that i'm an out of towner and my truck with the stacks is a dead giveaway and gives them an excuse to further harass me. I signal every turn, do the speed limit EXACTLY, you just can't win out here. I mean these guys are pulllin the freakin book out on us out there. You know why, our school sort of invaded their little town and their edit off. Plus the local politicians decided not to raise taxes and are specifically targeting us to get the money the town so despretly needs This is true i tell you, the police were told they have quotas to meet or its their job. I mean edit their out there every night with the radar detector....ooops i mean stopwatch

I wish i wouldn't let them break me, but in this case they win, i can't afford another ticket and i've been tryin to think of all the ways i can legally get under their skin. ANY SUGGESTIONS? But don't worry, when i get my nova done, I WIN!

I think it was the stacks.

Sled Puller posted on TDR a while back that the PA police had a list of descriptions of trucks with stacks to be on the lookout for.

Looks like to many tailgaters got what they deserved, and now the diesel guys have to pay for it.

oh it was definately the stacks... they're gonna use anything they can to generate revenue...

in TX we have a LITTLE leverage, but that ain't always gonna prevent the ticket from getting written...

this is straight from the TX vehicle code section 20.15:

Muffler defined: Muffler is a device consisting of a series of chambers or baffle plates or other mechanical design for the purpose of receiving exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and/or turbine wheels for the purpose of receiving exhaust gas from a diesel engine, both of which are effective in reducing noise.

as is:

Inspect for and reject if:

j. The tailpipe fails to discharge exhaust from the rear or sides or top of the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

now, if they wanted to get freaky about my lack of a catalytic converter, that's a different story

Forrest

Clouding an intersection I could understand getting a ticket for, it's a little dangerous if you have to guess what's behind a black cloud in the middle of the road. I'm all for fun, but don't flaunt it too much, that's what'll get us all in trouble.

But as for the tailgaters,,,,coat em
