Setting the wastegate
Here is some info about it but I don't know if they are being made any more.

You can adjust the boost within reason....for more boost make the rod shorter and for less boost make it longer. You can use a boost elbow, however its more of a delay than a overall adjustment.
Thanks guys-I thought it could be done by changing the length of the rod, but wasn't sure. My truck doesn't have a boost elbow, but it will peg the 35 lb gauge with at least 40+ lbs, and has blown intercooler boots off towing. I want to limit it to 35 so I won't have to worry about it.
Pike, this is what you need, set screw tight for maximum boost, loosen it to limit boost. Pretty simple, no need to remove turbo or mess with anything else. If you are hitting 40 already, you probably have disconnected the hose or vice gripped it shut.
FYI in stock condition, your wastegate should limit boost to 20-21 psi.

Right now, my boost gauge is plumbed with fittings into that elbow off the turbo, but it is a good chance for leaks. I'm going to get that adjustable boost elbow off ebay, and then get a boost bolt to run the gauge to. Thanks a lot guys.
