Setting up new injectors?
I'm about ready to install a set of RV 275 injectors to replace the stock injectors on an '02 ETH/6spd. I've got an Edge box set up like an EZ (no pump wire pinned) and modifications to the exhaust and air intake.
Talking to a Cummins-certified service outlet around here, the mechanic told me that even with the Edge box, you'd have to have the right kind of scanner to adjust the MAP and "engine speed control" sensors, in order for the new injectors to work properly. He said that if you didn't make the adjustments, fueling, power, and mileage would be way off. ???
He seems to be saying that the RV275's are outside the parameters of the PCM's and VP44's performance range. I've done a search on this forum, on others, and on the Dodge Ram Tech site, and I can't find any mention of necessary adjustments to the MAP, engine speed, or anything for the 275's. It seems to be a swap-and-go job. To be fair, the mechanic only works on heavy trucks, so he's admittedly not familiar with the 5.9's in the Rams. But he told me that any time you change injectors on diesels, you'd have to do this.
I'd appreciate some feedback on this, because I'll be installing them on Saturday. I've rebuilt gas engines, but don't have experience on diesels, so right now I'm feeling a bit unsure. Thanks.

Your fine. Your Edge box has the map sensor handled, so your map sensor won't be a problem.

The only thing that will truely be off is the overhead computer fuel consumtion.

Install them and have fun, watch the clutch. The ETH's love injector upgrades.

Re:Setting up new injectors?
i run dd2's right now with no other upgrades except exhaust and gauges. I wanted to wait until i upgrade my clutch for a comp. Am I missing something right now by just running injectors? Is this hurtin the old dodge?

Its not hurting a thing, other then maybe your EGT's are higher then they would be if you had a boost fooler and increased the boost.
