Setting Lift Pump Pressure

Just installed a Raptor 100 yesterday. It came with the fuel pressure set at 14psi @ idle and 9psi @ full throttle (driving down the highway). My truck is stock and I am wondering if I should turn up the pressure a bit or just leave it be. My gauge is reading pressure from a tapped banjo bolt on the inlet to the VP 44. Thanks.

That will be fine on a stock truck.

That'll work or up it to about 19psi idle and 14WOT.

I've read somewhere that too much lift pump pressure can cause a hard start condition. Is this true? If so what is considered "too much".

I believe a lot of it too is on aftermarket pumps the pump starts running when you turn the key on. OEM starts the pump when the starter kicks in so you don't get all that head pressure. FWIW....

This pump is the same set up as OEM (doesn't run until starter kicks in) so I guess there is little worry about hard starting. I just played with the regulator a bit and now have it 17psi@idle and 12psi@WOT. Thanks.
