Screaming charger!

Well i installed 275 injectors and a quad Adrenaline on a else stock truck,
Ever since i tapped the pump wire i notice how much the turbo screams once it gets above 25 psi boost. the turbo wastegates like stock, and i see mostly 28-31 psi boost on the pulse, even though the datalogger said max 35 psi.

I turned up 12 valves before, pushing 36-38 psi boost on stock turbo, and i never heard this high pitched tone i hear from this 24v's turbo. I still have stock airbox/filter.

Why could it be? I thought the 24 valve turbos where basicly the same, except for an added vane on the compressor side.

Could be a boost leak after your Boost Probe (this happened to me). I had my intake cover gasket go. For awhile I didn't know what it was since I didn't lose any boost reading from the gauge. Later found out, sure my gauge is reading normal, but the boost is escaping after my intake horn. Replaced the gasket and the squeal was gone.

I would still go around checking intercooler boots, intake horn/grid heater gaskets, intake cover gaskets, etc. Leave it idling and spray little bits of either/brake clean around places you think might be leaking.

If it's the hy they scream at higher boost. I had a drag comp and 125 horse injectors on one and man it was loud.

Is the silencer ring removed? It will scream like mad with that out.

A small nick on one compressor blade will create a lot of turbo "scream." Have you pulled the intake tube and taken a look?

well the charger gave up on me. i saw 37psi boost max on the adrenaline datalogger.

I had to replace the turbo, i got one with 60k miles of a 12 valve, and its pretty quiete compared to the other one, same power

Did it EXPLODE on you like mine did throwing half of the compresser wheel into the intercooler? If so I would pull the intercooler and all tubing off and flush anything that may be in there out so it doesnt reach your engine..
