Rod replied and said that it should be available within a month. He also stated it would be posted on his webiste when it becomes available. According to Rod they are working on the final fitment issues with the coupler for the filter.

How does the Scotty compare to the AFE, Airaid, or Volant? I've never used any aftermarket intake. Just wondering what the different experiences have been.

I haven't seen any reports on the AirAid system.

On the 03 stuff, as far as I know only AirAid has a Cummins airbox available, but I haven't seen any EGT reduction numbers. Our early testing with the Ram Air III has shown us cruise EGT reductions of about 100F on a stock truck. We've also seen better turbo spool up, and a slightly better top end kick.

Rod

Well I'm waiting for the Scotty Air 5, its going to have a small air conditioning unit in front that blows in 40f deg air, even in 100 f deg weather.

That was YOU with your face stuck to the window of the shop!

Bigger egt drops should be obtained once we get some more power and a good load and warmer temps with the RAM AIR III
on a few more 3rd gen Rams.

I am waiting on my Scotty for our 03 hot rod!

The BD picture appears to be for a 2nd gen truck Mopar. I could not find a picture of the 03 flavor from BD on their site.

Knowing Scotty and company I decided to try it out first. Its funny cuz Scotty actually had the first good air fliter set-up for our Dodges back a long time ago. I remember first reading the TDR and Scotty had the new set up released. I dont recall anyone else having anyhting even close to its performance. I suspect the 03 set up to be the same way.

Don~

I don't know about the 03 model but the Scotty Ait II is obviously far superior to the stock box.

Once you spend 5 minutes trying to force the intake hose to go on to the filter, there is absolutely no doubt in your mind that nothing is getting to the Turbo without going through the filter first!.

It didn't really take 5 minutes to put the intake on the filter, but it is a tight fit!. Thats the way they should fit.

Re:Scotty Air III -vrs- BD X-treme Air

I run the BD Xstream on my 02 and like it very much. Honestly, though, it's nothing special, it's a nicely made unit that did drop my EGT's about 150 degrees. It's more expensive than the Scotty, it is just a polished aluminum shield with a K&N filter, but bang for the buck, the Scotty is the way to go. Someone just has to make one in yellow, then I'll order my Scotty!!!

Does the Scotty incorporate a filter minder? I could not tell from the wildcat site.
