Scheid Hot Rod vp44 questions

i installed my vp44 this weekend and haveing some problems. after the truck sits for a long time, like 6hrs or more, it is hard starting like i loss pressure to the injectors. did i do something wrong. i do not see any leaks where that could be my problem. is there a ball valve in the vp that when out or is not working. has anyone else had this problem. thanks for the help

Check your overflow valve. Its been known to give hard starts if its stays open and drains out the VP.

That or double check for a small leak anywhere you took banjo bolts apart, you must be getting air bleeding off somwhere while it sits a while

i think i found it. its where the injector lines meet the injector tubes/head. i can;t get 4 and 5 to seat very good. do you have any tricks or hints. they leak just a little.

Dont crank down on those nuts real tight, loosen them and then re snug them back up if they still leak it might be the cross over tube o-ring. You could have the lines tight as can be and still be leaking through the o ring. Had a guy damage the inlets of the cross over tube before tightening them too much thinking that was the cause.

what should I do if they still leak then. Change the orings or cross over tubes. I will try tonight

Take the valve cover back off and loosen one bolt holding the injector down. tighten the lines to the crossover tubes first, then just snug the bolt holding the injectors down. Alot of times those bolts are overtightened causing missalignment between the injector and crossover tube. If that diesnt fix the problem you need to replace the orings on the connector tubes.
