80 mm compressor inducer, vs the 74.5 on the regular b-2 is the main thing.

It will easily make more then 25psi at 1500rpm. How much more I don't know. That much power at that low of an rpm is just asking to break something. At 15psi total boost the bottom turbo is making about 3 psi. I have the top turbo wastegated so that at 65psi total, the bottom turbo is making 30. This ends up with ~1:1 boost to drive pressure. I normally launch at 15psi, and full boost hits by the 60ft mark, which is about 1.74 seconds after the launch.

The first replacement turbo I had was a 35/40 Dodgezilla (hybrid turbo). The race track that I race at is at ~1200 ft altitude, and where I live it's ~4600 ft. The highway between the two cities is a pretty good and even grade with a 55mph speed limit. With the Dodgezilla, I would have to drop it out of overdrive if I got behind traffic that was going slower then 65, because the EGT's would get to high. It used to frustrate me to no end. With the twins (and the cam), I don't have any issues with keeping EGTs down coming over the pass.

Hope this helps. I don't know of any other ways to explain it...

The 64 is too close in flow to the S400. It sacrafices spool up for little to no gain. A 62 works well though and Ron is right about the 71mm turbine wheel. It will reduce drive pressures creating more power once at full boost.

It'd probably be a good spooling twin set but choke up on the top end with the small exh wheel and 12cm housing compared to a 64/71

This is for only Air Werks turbos. The turbines are all the same, there is two different sized compressor impellers. The compressor inducer sizes are different. I even got the maps for the turbos but I left them at work. Just looking at the turbodata, any S400 is big air flow and would work well if you can turn them.

I went to my local turbo shop. They have never heard of a S480? Anything bigger than the S400 would be a garrett 45 series or a garrett T-88. They are monsters turbos.

Their custom made buy either Bullseye, HTT has them their called the Super Dave special or somthing like that.

K31's have an 83mm turbine.(not the same as the 83mm s400) S400's come in 83mm, 87mm, and 96mm turbine. The 1.0 and 1.1 housings are available in the 83 and 87mm versions. The 96mm comes in 1.32 only. Compressors are available in 70, 72, 74, 75, 76, 78, 80, 85, 88mm. I have heard there is a 92mm, but haven't seen one. Up to 80mm can be fit into the standard 5" inlet v-band outlet compressor. Above that requires a different compressor housing that has a 5.5" inlet and a hose and clamp outlet. The 87mm turbine does not spool alot faster than the 96. The 83mm spools very quickly.

None of these turbos are custom made.
The S400 is just the turbo outsides. Its just like the S300s, you can get them in a variety of configurations. Its just that everyone calls the S300 not S362 or S364 or S366. I think Bullseye is the only company that does this.

The S480 has a 80mm compressor. The S400 configuration I have is a 75mm compressor, which I guess you could call it an S475 if you wanted.

All of the parts to build the S400 and S300 turbo combinations are Borg Warner stock parts. You can get any variation you want.

This is how it was expained to me from Dallas Turbo, when I ordered my S400 variant.

We were talking about S400 tubo variants, not compressor covers.

I know thats a custom piece.

I thought oil-burner on comp. diesel was having problems getting that housing to fit in the truck. Said he couldnt clock the housing enough?
